M S Monarch of the Seas is the second ship which is part of the three – ship Sovereign Class run by Royal Caribbean International, the second largest cruise line in the world.
When she was built in 1991, M S Monarch of the seas was one of the largest cruise ships in the world. Monarch was also the first major cruise ship in the world to be have a woman as captain – Karin Stahre Janson.

M S Monarch of the Seas was made in 1991 at the Chantiers de l’ Atlantique shipyards in Saint – Nazaire, France.
