Celebrity Equinox is the second instalment of the Solstice class of ships part of the fleet of celebrity Cruises. There are five ships part of this cruise ship fleet, namely, the upcoming Celebrity Reflection, Celebrity Silhouette, Celebrity Eclipse, Celebrity Solstice. Equinox is claimed to be the best option for cruisers who love luxury among ships part of its class.

Celebrity Equinox entered service as a commercial cruise ship on 31st July, 2009. The cruise vessel carried the Celebrity Banner. It was constructed in the Meyer Werft ship yards in Germany. The itineraries offered by the cruise ship are varied and rewarding, with Rome being the base for Mediterranean cruise itineraries, which are offered in the summer months. In winter, it is the Caribbean that is on focus, with Fort Lauderdale as the base.
