Hurtigruten – Up Close the Fjords and Mountains



Hurtigruten was previously known in the United States as Norwegian Coastal Voyage. The cruise company did not start up as one originally, it was originally intended as a travel and communication link at the coastal villages on the western coast of Norway.

The line offers one of the best cruise experiences along the fascinating intricate villages, mountains, fjords of the Norwegian coastal region. These regions were not accessible previously, but have now become convenient for access. The voyages on offer from Hurtigruten are called the “most beautiful voyage in the world”.

There are 9 more modern ships from Hurtigruten work all year round on the coastal itineraries which are called Hurtigruten in Norwegian, which is where the name of the cruise line comes from.

There are a good number of options available. This is inclusive of the 12 – night round – trip sailings, with stops at 34 ports in each one way segment, 5 – night south bound, 6 night north bound and others. There are a good number of excellent services on offer.

There are a great number of theme cruises that are on offer all through the year. This is inclusive of a Winter Digital Photography Voyage and an Astronomy Voyage. There are other themes that focus mainly on wild life, the culture, the history and other sights for which Norway is famous for, as well as a number of other theme cruises. There is no dearth of quality facilities and amenities.
