The latest cruise vessel from Royal Caribbean International has been released. It is the Allure of the Seas, and it has the distinction of being the largest cruise ship in the world. The Allure got the first place by a literal two inches. It was actually thought that both Allure and her sister ship Oasis of the Seas are of the same size, having the same super structures, but recently design engineers found that the Oasis was actually shorter by two inches. This, although a technicality, places the Allure of the Seas in the position as the largest cruise ship ever constructed.
There are a good number of things you can do aboard the Allure, other than getting lost, of course. Although the sheer spaciousness in a cruise ship gets a bit confusing at times. It takes a bit of time, but the well designed public spaces and the well lit signage here eradicates any impersonality. It is certainly not difficult to get around. There are a whole number of excellent facilities and new entertainment options that will be featured in the “Entertainment ship”, as it has been dubbed by carnival, there are a whole number of excellent additions, as the name hints.
The big size also means that you get a better bang for your buck than ever. The pricing is significantly more ‘value’ that other vacations, considering the rooms, the dining and entertainment options. There are some excellent ports of call as well. And there are some excellent features that has been added, such as the spa, water park, the zip lining, the ice skating, rock climbing, there is nothing much needed other than these to dispel the idiotic notion that cruising can only be enjoyed by your grand parents.
There is a whole number of extras that make it absolutely impossible to compare the ship with anything other than the sister ship, Oasis. These ships are making more than a wave, it is the start of a new era, ports are seriously reconsidering some remodeling in the way of enlargements while considering the size of these two largest cruise ship models.
It is easy to see that the ship designers had a real challenge, how do you create the feeling of intimacy in the largest cruise ship ever built!? Actually they have succeeded in some parts, especially in the dining venues and the entertainment. Actually, more than intimacy, the Allure of the Seas, feels more like an exciting and vibrant city rather than anything else.
